About Indivisible

Indivisible is Now Over 2,000 Local Groups Strong Across the Nation

We build and sustain our movement’s power by helping individuals take leadership.

Our local groups take independent action on important local issues and elections.

Local groups coordinate with other local leaders and the national office on advocacy, elections, and national Indivisible campaigns
as well as nonviolent civil resistance campaigns to counter the authoritarian policies and actions of the administration.

And we are always building bridges with allies and cross culturally for both local and national actions.

Core Values of the Indivisible Movement

It’s 100% clear now – we are in the fight of our lives to reclaim and rebuild our Democracy.

All authoritarians depend on a divide and conquer strategy,
So we treat an attack on any one of us as an attack on all of us.

Our Direct Action commitments mean that we show up for each other,
specially for those facing the brunt of rightwing ideologues’ attacks –
Often immigrants, people of color and low-income people.

Our Electoral efforts concentrate on holding elected officials accountable,
Including those candidates and elected persons we endorse.

We model inclusion, respect, and fairness in all our actions.

Where authoritarian regimes promote fear and division to reduce civic engagement,
We counter this with the power of collective action to create change and inspire hope.

Foundation of the Indivisible Movement – Nonviolent Civil Resistance Only and Always

Nonviolent Civil Resistance Works

Whereas violence always plays into the hands of the authoritarian-
Giving him every excuse needed to crack down ever harder,
And causing greater fear and obedience among the citizenry (fear breads fear).

Nonviolent Civil Resistance-
Weakens the grip the Authoritarian has on the citizenry and on the reins of power,
Emboldens average citizens to become more active and bolder (courage breads courage).

Indivisible at all levels and in all actions and activities is committed to nonviolence in principle
and nonviolent civil resistance strategies and tactics in all our campaigns.
